Who We Are
UCOA Was Officially Incorporated in 1990
The Utah Conservation Officers Association (UCOA) was formed in 1990 as a non-profit organization in the State of Utah. UCOA was organized exclusively for the purpose of “lessoning the burdens of government” by unifying the Conservation Officers of the State of Utah as a body acting together to protect and conserve Utah’s wildlife resources.
UCOA’s mission is:

To provide wildlife conservation education to the public;

To provide services and support to fallen, disabled, and retired Utah Conservation Officers, their dependents, and their families; and ultimately

To improve the welfare of all enforcement employees, their families, and their dependents.

Our Mission
Our Mission is to advocate for the protection, preservation, and responsible management of wildlife and other natural resources through the support and professional development of Natural Resource Officers. We are committed to enhancing hunting and fishing stewardship, ensuring the safety and sustainability of wildlife, and promoting public education on conservation issues. Through collaboration, training, and a dedication to law enforcement excellence, we strive to safeguard our state's natural resource heritage for future generations. We, the Utah Conservation Officers Association, strive to provide a united voice for officers in the Utah Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division and their families by advocating for their professional development, welfare, and the highest standards of service. We aim to foster camaraderie, offer career support, and promote policies that enhance the effectiveness and well-being of officers in their service to the wildlife and citizens of the State Of Utah.

We shall vigorously pursue those who intentionally violate wildlife law and bring them to justice in and even-handed and fair manner.

We shall treat all citizens we contact with compassion and respect to the degree and respect we would like to be treated ourselves with the goal of preserving the dignity of all, even those that are found in violation.

We shall use all tools available to assure and attain compliance.

We shall assist the public in such a way that they enjoy their wildlife recreational experience to the fullest extent possible and in a safe and lawful manner.
